DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Develop best-in-class forecasting models for portfolios to support stress testing, loss reserve, and business planning exercise. The models are used to forecast credit card sales, payments, balances, and losses under different economic scenarios. Conduct research into card data, business strategies, and customer behaviors including how they are impacted by the macroeconomic environment. Use econometrics, statistical, machine learning, and time series forecasting techniques to produce robust models with a high level of explainability. Communicate model results, analytical findings, and insights to business partners and the senior leadership team to support business and/or technical decisions which could have significant impacts to P&L. Develop, maintain, and improve data pipeline architecture. Support senior leadership to design and build data across lending products. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues. Support the process of developing and maintaining documentation related to data procedures, practices, and templates. Write clear documentation to support the review of the model and it's adoption by the business. Contribute to regulatory related responses to facilitate compliance with firm wide policies, procedures, and guidance. Anticipate and address stakeholder needs through, but not limited to, ad-hoc analysis, sensitivity analysis, analytical walks, and performance monitoring, as well as through clear communication and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Risk Program Associate, Business Analyst, Qualitative Model Validation, Research Assistant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Banking, Finance, and Risk Management with a focus on supporting credit card marketing strategies and initiatives; linear regression; logistic regression; dynamics of the economic environment; time series forecasting models; qualitative or quantitative model risk management; modeling data and developing reports including assessing ongoing performance monitoring of the models; data analytics including Teradata databases and credit card data modeling; P&L statements to critically review the appropriateness with respect to modeling objective and available model development data; data practices and handling business strategies related to consumer lending product or business analysis; programming and analytical software including Python (including Numpy, Pandas, Spark, Statsmodels, and Sklearn), SQL, and SAS; time series analysis, statistics, econometrics, and machine learning techniques; and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Requires academic experience in Economics to help build forecasting models that rely on economic indicators.

Job Location: 201 North Walnut Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
