As an Affordable Housing Portfolio manager on the Community Development Real Estate credit team, you will play an integral role in the bank's Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) mission by financing affordable housing. You will be responsible for independent oversight of a portfolio of commercial real estate affordable housing credits and relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth monitoring and compliance on loans, covenants and projects under construction & stabilized
  • Prepare annual review package, including thorough analysis of guarantors/sponsors and collateral
  • Maintain system data ownership and integrity for internal reporting, portfolio reviews and criticized loan management
  • Conduct loan modifications as needed with limited supervision including preparation of credit analysis and review of legal documentation
  • Collaborate and communicate with clients and business partners, with a high degree of professionalism
  • Lead projects and serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in affordable housing finance, including Low Income Housing Tax Credits and subsidy financing
  • Experience in lending, credit analysis, underwriting, and/or portfolio management
  • Knowledge of loan documents, transactions and underwriting
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team comprised of local and remote colleagues
  • Ability to work under critical time constraints while managing multiple deadlines

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Completion of a formal credit training program
  • Experience with ground-up construction, value-add, and stabilized asset types
  • Passion for affordable housing
  • Advanced Excel skills
