As a Technical Project Manager II in Card Risk Reporting, you will be responsible for technology driven projects to modernize our reporting and analytics tools and capabilities to improve our effectiveness and efficiency. You will leverage your broad knowledge of technical principles and practices to develop innovative solutions, while effectively managing resources, budgets, and cross-functional teams. Your analytical reasoning and adaptability skills will enable you to navigate through ambiguity and embrace change. The primary focus of this role will be to manage the migration of reporting consumption tables from our Integrated Corporate Data Warehouse (Teradata) to AWS Snowflake, ensuring a seamless transition with no disruption to Senior Management and regulatory reporting.

In addition to overseeing the migration timelines and deliverables, the Card Risk Reporting Project Manager will be responsible for developing data and reporting requirements, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure all reporting and analytical needs are met, and executing comprehensive validation testing to ensure data integrity and accuracy. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, requirement writing, data management, risk reporting, and project management. This role will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects that enhance our data capabilities and risk reporting frameworks, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and implementation of strategic data and risk reporting modernization projects, ensuring alignment with data and reporting controls and BCBS 239 regulatory requirements.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with Senior Risk Management and Technology stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage project resources effectively.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues as they arise.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members and cross-functional stakeholders including Data Analysts, Business Analysts, Portfolio Risk Managers, IT professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present regular project updates to Senior Management and stakeholders, highlighting key risks, mitigation strategies, and status updates.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data management and risk reporting to continuously improve project management processes.
  • Analyze and breakdown complex business, technical, and operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Support the optimization of allocated resources, including people, budget, and technology, to effectively plan, schedule, and progress project and/or program initiatives
  • Participate in stakeholder management, fostering productive working relationships with cross-functional teams and clients to drive mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Assist in risk management by making informed decisions in line with the firm's risk management practices and policies, ensuring project success and compliance

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 2+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs
  • Proven ability to utilize analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down objectives into manageable tasks
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and experience with relevant platforms (Teradata, AWS Snowflake) and software tools/technologies (SAS, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau)
  • Experience in resource optimization and/or resource planning
  • Prior experience managing diverse sets of stakeholders, establishing productive working relationships with cross-functional teams, clients, and managing project governance
  • Strong background in data management, data architecture, summary table structure design for reporting efficiency.
  • Excellent project management skills, including proficiency with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data management and risk reporting.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Prior experience driving alignment across multiple business units/leads toward a common goal is preferred
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Data Analytics is a plus.
