As a Retail Banking Product Control and External Reporting Associate 2 within the ICB Controller team, you will be responsible for developing and building out the Retail Product Control and External Reporting Function. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of the line of business books and records, perform detailed financial analysis, and promote robust controls for new initiatives, acquisitions, and product support. You will also actively participate in the monthly close, quarterly earnings release, and regulatory reporting. F&BM operates as an agile and cross-functional area and the successful candidate will be required to flex their skill set to support the wider teams as required. The role will be varied and often moving at pace, no day is the same in in the business. Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance ED Controller
  • Actively participate in the monthly close, quarterly earnings release, regulatory reporting, and financial disclosures
  • Key participant in the assessment of US GAAP (and UK GAAP/IFRS) treatment of retail banking products in existing and future markets
  • Representing as Controllers for retail banking related products at forums and senior stakeholder meetings
  • Apply up-to-date product/industry/market knowledge in specialty areas of reporting
  • Consolidate, review, and analyze quarterly financial data for accuracy and completeness. Perform monthly/quarterly variance analytics
  • Adhere to proof & control procedures to ensure accurate reconciliation between regulatory filings, SEC filings and other published financial reports (e.g., Form 10-Q, Annual Report/Form 10-K, Call Report & FR Y-9C, FFIEC 009, FR2510 etc.), Adhere to various control procedures and edit checks to ensure the integrity of reported financial results
  • Assist in strategic development of solutions to improve the quality of external reporting while developing analytics to add efficiency to current state processes.
  • Support internal and external audits. Effectively manage multiple priorities and deliverables under tight timelines
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure end to end processes and SLAs are adhered to. Participate in firm wide project groups to implement changes in reporting requirements and enhancements to reporting tools
  • Candidate should be innovative, organized, and able to execute the necessary steps to achieve the strategic vision.

Required qualifications and Skills:

  • Deep understanding of and experience in US GAAP (required exposure to UK GAAP/IFRS) accounting standards and application to retail products
  • Excellent depth of knowledge and understanding of Retail products
  • Strong experience in Retail banking Product Control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Advanced Excel (Pivot tables and vlookup, sumifs), Word and Powerpoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a great team player
  • Flexibility to work under pressure, multi-task to meet changing work requirements and strict deadlines
  • Self-motivated self-starter, strong initiative to drive a project from start to completion and superior work ethic; ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent analytical acumen, with ability to understand, produce and explain income statement and balance sheet content and variance

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • 7+ years finance/accounting/LEC/regulatory reporting/products - related experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • CPA/CA
  • Strong US GAAP (and UK/IFRS) accounting acumen
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to deep dive on processes/issues and improve controls/efficiencies
  • Ability to partner effectively with others, as well as act as an advisor to business partners within the lines of business or legal entity chains
  • Intellectually curious, proactive, action-oriented, and results-driven
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to prepare executive level presentations
