This is a unique chance to work with the Global Technology Applied Research (GTAR) center at JPMorgan Chase & Co. GTAR aims to design and conduct research across multiple frontier technologies, enabling novel discoveries and inventions, and developing next-generation solutions for the firm's clients and businesses.

s a Quantum Computing Research Scientist within GTAR, you will leverage your strategic insight and analytical expertise to advance the field of quantum algorithms for optimization, stochastic modeling, numerical analysis, machine learning, and financial use cases. Collaborate with other researchers to perform rigorous benchmarking and evaluation of algorithms in classical simulation and on hardware.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize financial modeling and strategic planning skills to drive advancements in quantum algorithms and their applications in financial use cases.
  • Provide innovative solutions to complex challenges faced by internal project teams, drawing on experience in high-stakes financial environments.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to explore the potential of emerging technologies in financial contexts.
  • Document and communicate findings effectively, leveraging strong communication skills to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual property by identifying and pursuing necessary protections.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, or related fields, with a strong analytical background.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and strategic thinking to solve complex problems, particularly in financial contexts.
  • Experience in financial modeling, strategic planning, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in managing high-value projects and leading teams in dynamic environments.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience in investment banking, product management, or relationship management is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and their applications in finance is desirable.
  • Proven track record of managing diverse teams and fostering inclusive work environments.
