Job responsibilities
- Lead and scale a multidisciplinary team of designers
- Deliver customer-centric and data informed experiences that are meaningful, cohesive, accessible, and usable.
- Oversee all aspects of design, including interaction design, information architecture, visual design, design systems to develop and execute business strategy and vision.
- Define and lead design excellence, crafting vision, principles, processes, and frameworks for remarkable experiences balancing craft with the business impact of design.
- Foster design excellence and act as a thought leader / subject matter expert on design best practice to continually develop the quality of collaboration between business functions.
- Partner with senior leadership across product, engineering, marketing and research to foster a culture of design thinking, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the organisation to ensure design decisions are aligned with business goals and customer needs.
- Manage design operations
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Extensive experience designing digital products that have achieved measurable success, both as design leader and as an individual contributor.
- Extensive experience as a user-centred designer of products and/or services and user research
- Experience overseeing design craft and vision for B2C products during 0-1 phase
- Proven track record of managing design teams; people whom you have worked with look up to you as a mentor and leader. You have a passion for growing and mentoring a team of UX professionals and continuing to develop their careers.
- Deep understanding of user-centred design principles, and the ability to apply them to complex problems.
- Strategic thinking; you can demonstrate success developing and implementing a comprehensive UX strategy which approaches design challenges holistically, considering broader business objectives and user needs. Shows big picture thinking, while still applying attention to the details.
- Passionate and humble; you always seek new horizons, remaining curious about emerging market trends and trail-blazing experiences.
- You are comfortable working within a geographically distributed team
