As a Senior Product Associate in Small Business Payments (SMB), you contribute to the team by leveraging your expertise in product development and optimization to make a significant impact, supported by user research and customer feedback to fuel the creation of innovative products and continuously improve existing offerings. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and ongoing success.

The Senior Product Associate will support a robust product roadmap using their experience in product management, customer experience, multi-channel commerce, and agile delivery. The ideal candidate will understand modern technology stacks (cloud services, API integrations, microservices, mobile/web front-ends, etc.), design thinking (client journey, UX / UI), and mobile channels. This person is highly-organized and self-motivated and designs customer-obsessed products, manages a product backlog, adapts to internal strategic shifts and external market forces, influences decisions and has excellent relationship building skills. This person will succeed by achieving goals driven by optimal digital experiences, net-positive product and feature KPIs, rapid time-to-market, and internal/external stakeholder satisfaction.

Job responsibilities

  • Partners with the Product Manager to identify new product opportunities that reflect the needs of our customers and the market through user research and discovery
  • Considers and plans for upstream and downstream implications of new product features on the overall product experience
  • Supports the collection of user research, journey mapping, and market analysis to inform the strategic product roadmap and provide insight on potential product features that provide value to customers
  • Analyzes, tracks, and evaluates product metrics including work to time, cost, and quality targets across the product development life cycle
  • Writes the requirements, epics, and user stories to support product development
  • Prioritizes the backlog based on client demand, user research, product KPIs, strategic business goals and competitive assessments
  • Understands product architecture that reduces time-to-market for new features, simplifies internal/external dependencies, and scales to handle large volume
  • Identifies potential roadblocks and develops recommendations for delivery issues found in pre-release UAT, or for defects found in production
  • Participates in product validation testing prior to production releases
  • Uses raw transaction data to monitor product performance, create monthly dashboards, and lead periodic stakeholder reviews
  • Partner with teams (product, design, technology, risk, legal, compliance, ops, marketing, sales...) to develop features, drive prioritization, resourcing, controls, readiness, and go-to-market plans

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
  • 2+ years' experience in designing/building solutions with modern technology stacks, including, API's, microservices, public cloud, Agile methodologies, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge of the product development life cycle across digital, eCommerce, and mobile channels
  • Experience in product life cycle activities including discovery and requirements definition
  • Developing knowledge of data analytics and data literacy
  • Proven track record of managing new product launches / transformations of time-critical platforms
  • Comfortable interacting with senior level stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze opportunities and problems, recommend solutions, influence outcomes, and present confidently (both verbal and written) to cross-functional teams
  • Ability to productively work in a matrix management organization with a positive, team-oriented attitude and that inspires a product first point of view
  • Travel requirement: approximately 25% (as health & travel conditions permit)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with payment and/or point of sale solutions
  • Bachelor's degree
