This is a unique opportunity to work closely with Lending Advisors and Credit Risk Executives to facilitate the origination of loans, monitor credit risk exposures, and manage clients' collateral portfolios. You will also be responsible for regulatory reporting and Credit Risk data analytics, with a focus on driving change and innovation.
As an Associate in the Credit Platform Services team, you will play a critical role in protecting the bank from potential credit losses. You will work closely with the Lending Advisors and Credit Risk Executives, taking on a wide range of functions such as administration and monitoring of Wealth Management Asia credit facilities, reviewing and monitoring credit covenants, transaction approval, and other special monitoring requirements. Job responsibilities:
- Support the underwriting team for setting up of new /renewal credit facilities in accordance to the Credit and Risk policies of the Private Bank.
- Handle documentations which includes preparation and liaising with internal legal on documentation drafting, signature verification, scanning and filing.
- Collaborate closely with Credit Underwriting team, Credit Executives on exception handling for credit facilities extended to Asia Private Banking clients
- Monitor and review of the loan portfolio, regularize excesses (shortfalls) as per the Credit guidelines, regulations, credit policies and guidelines
- Provide Controls and Management Information Support reporting for internal Credit Risk metrics including credit exposure, product analytics, threshold reporting and collateral breakdown
- Identify, implement and manage controls initiatives with other International Private Banking primary locations i.e Geneva and Edinburgh to share best practices and coordination with India and Manila teams
- Explore and develop automation opportunities for existing reports using Intelligent Automation tools like Alteryx, Python, Unqork and Xceptor
- Input and maintain credit limits and other credit parameters such as cross pledges, pricing, mortgages etc. in the system
- Understand end-to-end credit client processes, identify opportunities for efficiencies, articulate potential changes, drive changes, and communicate ideas to stakeholders while articulating benefits.
- Work with stakeholders to understand end-to-end processes and implement them with a \"first time right\" mentality.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or relevant disciplines
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a middle office or control function in a financial institution
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets and understanding of risk measure, and ability to adapt in a fast paced, dynamic and changing team environment is essential
- Confident and outgoing personality, able to deal directly with the senior stake-holders
- Strong solution based problem solving and analytical skills, able to add value rather than just accept the status quo
- Must be highly disciplined, a self-starter, and can execute on assignments independently. Adaptability to learn new tasks and demonstrate a willingness to understand the details of a process.
- Strong ability to document (or make changes) to standard operating procedures, risk documentations and policy documents associated with Operations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex operational issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (partnership mindset)
- Strong understanding of the Operations ecosystem- controls, reconciliation, documentation, and operational risk management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Knowledge of regulatory landscape an advantage
- Strong knowledge of automation tools like Alteryx, Xceptor, Visio a plus
