As a Principal Security Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the The Cybersecurity & Technology Controls (CTC) group, you provide expertise and engineering excellence as an integral part of an agile team to enhance and develop cybersecurity software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. The Cybersecurity & Technology Controls (CTC) group at JP Morgan aligns the firm's cybersecurity, access management, controls and resiliency teams. The group proactively and strategically partners with all lines of business and functions to enable them to design, adopt and integrate appropriate controls; deliver processes and solutions efficiently and consistently; and drive automation of controls. The group's number one priority is to enable the business by keeping the firm protected, stable and resilient.

This role is within the Product Security team aligned to the Cloud Foundational Services (CFS) technology organization. CFS acts as the focal point across all JP Morgan's public cloud capabilities. The product security team's task is to ensure that this is done in a secure and compliant manner. This role will be the Security Lead aligned to the firm's Google Cloud platform.

Job responsibilities

  • Provides thought leadership and experience of identifying and management of risks and controls for all Technology solutions
  • Works autonomously to affect change - flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; manages competing priorities to achieve the most effective result and able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment
  • Identifies and implements tools and processes to allow efficient sharing of data and information to promote business agility while ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Evaluates and proposes new security-related products and services
  • Assists with forensic analysis of security incidents
  • Continually assesses new trends in technology and determines implications on the overall security control process
  • Drives security engineering thought leadership within the product line
  • Manages, develops, motivates, and mentors either directly or indirectly
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and expert applied experience
  • Security Architecture experience with hands on experience leading, designing and delivering technology solutions
  • Ability to successfully influence many different groups and individuals to deliver high quality and timely deliverables
  • Ability to successfully navigate a complex infrastructure that involves numerous groups and individuals
  • Ability to lead within a cross line of business technology organization, empower people, build rapport, garnering respect and appropriately exercising authority in a collaborative cross-cultural environment
  • Advanced knowledge of industry leading security practices
  • Understanding of the business and knowledgeable of latest internal and external threat trends

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • CCSP, CISA, CISSP, CISM or other information security certifications would be an advantage
  • Google Cloud Developer / Architect / Security certifications would be a significant advantage
