As a Principal Data Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology's Data Governance Team, your role will involve leveraging your unique expertise to enhance and develop data architecture platforms using cutting-edge cloud technologies. You will also contribute to the implementation of strategic global solutions. Utilizing your advanced data architecture skills, you will collaborate with team members across the organization to deliver top-notch results and achieve the objectives of our target state architecture.

Job responsibilities

  • Act as a representative for the organization at Firm-wide and Line of Business Information Architecture forums.
  • Offer technical leadership and guidance to ensure compliance with Information Architecture standards.
  • Develop and promote best practices in metadata management, data lineage, and data quality controls.
  • Perform regular assessments and audits of information architecture to maintain compliance and optimize processes.
  • Advises cross-functional teams on data architecture solutions to achieve the target state architecture and improve current technologies
  • Develops multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and data architecture strategy and priorities
  • Creates complex and scalable data frameworks using appropriate software design
  • Reviews and debugs code written by others to deliver secure, high-quality production code
  • Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert and Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
  • Creates durable, reusable data frameworks using new technology to meet the needs of the business
  • Mentors and coaches junior architects and technologists and Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on data management concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
  • Expertise in one or more architecture disciplines and programming languages, with deep knowledge of data architecture, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Advanced knowledge of application development and technical processes, with in-depth expertise in technical disciplines such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
  • Proven ability to apply expertise and innovative methods to solve complex architecture problems in various technical disciplines.
  • Experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with strong communication skills to effectively present to and influence Senior Leaders and Executives.
  • Practical cloud-native experience and proficiency in information governance, with familiarity with regulatory requirements and data management standards.
  • Proven experience as an Information Architect or in a similar role, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and experience with data architecture tools.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ability to abstract from specifics and detail from conceptual frameworks, with a strong understanding of governing architectures, solutions, and teams, and knowledge of setting, using, and enforcing standards, industry patterns, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in planning and managing workload, deliverables, and teams under tight deadlines, with experience working on large-scale, global technology initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with senior technology and business sponsors, influencing outcomes and approaches.
