As a Principal Architect - SAP at JPMorgan Chase within the General Ledger Finance Unit, you provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies, as well as support the adoption of strategic global solutions. Leverage your advanced architecture capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes. As a senior technology leader you will own and drive the platform evolution forward within the SAP and Reporting Technology org. This is a critical function for the firm and the foundational application across Finance.

Job responsibilities

  • Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies
  • Develops multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities
  • Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert
  • Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Command of architecture, design and business processes
  • Experience deploying SAP on the Cloud / SAP Rise
  • Defining a robust automation framework to meet demands of automated testing and process automation
  • Designing robust datamodels that is capable of scaling to higher use and volumes, taking advantage of advancements in S4 Hana In-memory technology
  • Expertise in SAP BW and Reporting experience including application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
  • Ability to present and effectively communicate to Senior Leaders and Executives
  • Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
  • Expertise in working in in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Experienced in modern programming languages
