Payments Operations (PO) is part of the Digital & Platform Services organization in the Corporate & Investment Bank. PO supports Payments, Liquidity, Merchant Services, Receivables, Trade Finance, Commercial Card, Prepaid Card, and some new products and acts as the payment hub for JPMorgan Chase across the firm's business lines. PO consists of ~9,000 employees across 60 sites and supports over 140,000 corporations, financial institutions, governments, and municipalities domiciled in over 180 countries.

LATAM Payments Operations processes a daily average of 135 thousand transactions. From 2021 to 2024, our volume increased by 190%, with more than 3.2 thousand active accounts. Revenues from the business in 2024 were USD 732M, and for 2025, the business is forecasting USD 817M. Join us in leading the charge to enhance our payment operations and drive growth across the LATAM region.
We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to Lead Latin America Cash Operations, reporting to the Managing Director of Global Cash Operations.
As a Cash Operations Executive Director you will lead the operational functions related to settling payments within Latin America, where JPM has a significant presence in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico, as well as in the Buenos Aires Corporate Center. The LATAM Payments team supports the following sub-LOBs within the Payments organization: Cash, Trade, Cash Account Management, and Regulatory Operations.
The focus of the role is to deliver secure, fast, and cost-effective payment operations while engaging in business strategy delivery and driving a strong people agenda. This individual will collaborate and influence a broad group of stakeholders, partners, and vendors as well as work closely with peer teams to deliver business goals including expenses, operational risk management, and client experience.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead operational oversight of Latin America Payments Operations and ensure all service level agreements (SLA) and performance metrics are met.
- Partner with Product, Technology, Operations, Service, Risk, Compliance, and all JPM's lines of business to deliver the business strategy and manage significant risks to the firm.
- Manage projects to deliver high levels of automation (above 98.5% straight-through processing) and data analytics to enable scalable and resilient processing.
- Set the long-term operating model for the evolving Payment business and innovative landscape of products that JPM is actively developing.
- Engage with product owners of the Clearing and Payments businesses to ensure current and future needs of the business are met.
- Maintain a strong regional network to understand and support the needs of all key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a robust controls environment that will protect our clients, the firm, and our employees.
- Represent JPM in multiple regulatory engagements from an Operations standpoint, including regulatory exams and periodic update meetings.
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise around payments processes and applications.

- Position requires 24x7 operational leadership oversight with some after-hours work via remote access and mobile phone.
- Position requires heavy interaction with the controls team, servicing teams, product teams, technology teams, and other support function teams to ensure a strong business flow across multiple functions and multiple products.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Fluent in Spanish and English language
- Overall 12+ years of experience leading large organizations in similar industries or functions with strong working knowledge of the Payments businesses operations
- Excellent leadership and people management capabilities to effectively lead organizations through change and transformation.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate internally and externally and at all levels. Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of working and partnering with risk, audit, and compliance to ensure that overall organizational objectives are met.
- Strong project management and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
