As an Operations Control Management Vice President within the Operations Control Management (OCM) office, you will play a crucial role in the enhancement and execution of controls, aligning closely with the operations management function. Your focus will be on ownership and improvement of these controls. Additionally, you will fortify regulatory control and assessment within Operations, collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders to establish a more robust framework within the location.
Job Responsibilities
- Be responsible for governance of controls across all Commercial and Investment Bank (CIB) Operations functions.
- Partner with Business Continuity Management to implement Conduct, and Operational Risk Management standards, design & implement CIB specific framework
- Lead Operations Metrics review meetings and manages Operations error and event escalation to the appropriate committee and/or forum
- Organize Operations forum for Legal Ledgers and Regulatory Reports, and manages Operations error and event escalation to appropriate committee and/or forum
- Focus on themes, underlying patterns and opportunities for Operations to proactively address concerns and avoid future Regulatory actions.
- Partner with Operations to prepare for audit / compliance testing / regulatory inspection. Coordinate responses and drive required remediation actions (incl. sustainability)
- Provide advisory support to CIB Operations to mitigate the Regulatory Risks and protocol for implementation on Regulatory agendas, and conducts Post Implementation Review to ensure Operations owned Legal Ledgers and Regulatory Reports are handled properly
- Support the implementation of Corporate owned Policies, with specific focus on the design of Operations controls required to comply with the policy.
- Monitor and oversee timely closure of Operations issues and action plans, Perform deep dives to determine root causes, initiate thematic reviews, review metric/trends, and remediation actions
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance Team to build an independent testing on Operational Quality, including Self Testing Programs

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree
- Previous relevant risk and control experience, and relevant business and product knowledge
- Japanese read / write / speaking skills at professional proficiency level
- A strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- Ability to produce clear, concise, relevant and accurate documentation
- Strong analytical skills with complementary communications and presentation skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Drives results through leadership, people, communication and influence
- Comfortable with change, ambiguity, debate, conflict and informed risk taking
- Able to manage and deliver on multiple streams of work concurrently
- Willingness to make decisions, while ensuring buy in from stakeholders
- Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure decisions are well thought out and can be executed from an operations perspective
