As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Networks, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job responsibilities
- Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope
- Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
- Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
- Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
- Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
- Selects, Configures, Documents, and Certifies new network products (switches, routers, SD-WAN Devices) for the firm's branches and office locations
- Gathers information from internal and external clients and partners to become an expert on the systems we design
- Follows and creates best practices around network equipment, configurations as well as maintains hardware and software versions throughout their lifecycle
- Leads and advise junior engineers and technologists

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product
- Strong experience in network (TCP/IP) routing protocols (MPLS, NAT, BGP4, OSPF, DNS, firewall policies)
- Deep technical knowledge in a multi-vendor hardware environment such as (Juniper, Cisco, Cradlepoint and Versa Certifications)
- Ability to develop complex network designs based on reference architecture and existing standards, as well as the ability to develop new standards
- Experience in developing lab test solutions and performing testing in remote lab facilities for implementation best practices
- Proven experience collaborating with and influencing technical and non-technical audiences with an ability to prepare, present, and adapt the intended message to the target audience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with (VPN technologies, IPv6, layer 4-7 switching, Security, QoS, IP Telephony, WiFi, Cellular, Network Management and Monitoring Software)
- (Juniper, Cisco, Cradlepoint, and Versa) certifications
- Technology experience in a very large financial or banking environment
