As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology Employee Platforms, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.
Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
- Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
- Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
- Design, engineer and deploy services in Azure, using automation tools, IaC (Infrastructure as Code), Terraform, ARM, PowerShell, and the Azure Cli
- Create automation workflows for compute, networking, storage and other infrastructure deployments
- Collaborate with senior technology and business stakeholders to understand requirements and engineer solutions around them
- Partner with external vendors, and internal teams to overcome technical challenges and deliver solutions
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
- Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
- Strong knowledge of public cloud and on-premise Windows virtual desktop environments
- Expertise in Windows authentication protocols, Azure RBAC, network topologies, security principles, firewalls and technical problem solving
- Passionate and energetic technology leader and problem solver
- Thrives on innovative and solid engineering practices
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Ability to uncover business challenges and develop solutions to solve those challenges
- Expert knowledge of the Windows 11 operating system
- Knowledge of Amazon (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud technologies
- Ability to communicate effectively with business leaders, application developers and systems technology experts
- Ability to coordinate efforts across disparate groups
- Ability to work well at a conceptual level in driving concepts out into workable solutions
- Ability to define target state architectures and developing applicable transition plans
