As a Loan Accounting and Reconciliation Associate I within the Wholesale Loan Operations team, you will be responsible for providing top-tier accounting control and operational support across various business lines. Your role will involve utilizing multiple commercial loan systems to guarantee precise financial reconciliation and reporting. Furthermore, you will oversee and govern aging exceptions, ensuring adherence to established clearing standards.
Job responsibilities
• Work closely with NRS and LOB finance partners to resolve reconciliation issues.
• Implement controls to mitigate process risks in case of operational errors, near misses and exception when appropriate.

• Manage incoming queries or escalations reaching timely resolution.
• Participate in general ledger and loan systems projects, including conversions, testing, and enhancements.
• Identify and address outages and reconciliation issues impacting internal business partners within required service level agreements.
• Generate and distribute daily, weekly, or monthly reconciliation reports.
• Provide approval when necessary on the General Ledger transactions.
• Provide guidance to Loan Operations staff on transaction processing or adjustments.
• Perform Treasury-related functions, including cost of funds and break-funding.
• Develop and maintain written operational procedures and cross-train team members.
• Identify opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency and implement creative solutions in accounting and loan operations
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
• College degree in business, accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience with commercial loans.
• Knowledge of commercial loan systems and applications, including Loan IQ, ACBS, VLS, CRELA, STRATEGY, SAP, Customer Assist, eServe, and MITs.
• Experience in giving presentations on findings for projects. Experience in managing Client and Stakeholder relationships, troubleshooting issues, and facilitating resolutions.
• A proactive and innovative mindset with the ability to suggest and implement process improvements
• Analysis, analytical thinking, problem solving, organization, excellent interpersonal/communication skills, technical knowledge/experience in accounting, substantiation, and reconciliation functions are required to successfully deliver the daily functions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and judgment skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT and Access.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
• In-depth experience in accounting, substantiation, and reconciliation functions; participate in Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) testing, exams, and audits.
• Strong client focus and ability to partner with various internal and external groups, build strong working relationship with technology, product and operations to succeed in delivery; demonstrated experience in developing or suggesting innovative solutions in financial or operation processes
• Experience with commercial loan systems and applications; familiarity with Treasury-related functions and processes.
• Successful completion of all periodic High Value Business Entitlements (HBVE) background checks
• Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with the ability to leverage data insights to drive decision-making and improve servicing operations.
