As a team member you will be responsible for financial oversight of legal entities. You will operate in a strong control environment and cover various line of businesses, products and operational areas that directly impacts the Legal Entity financials and regulatory reporting of the firm. The job involves local regulatory reporting as well as monthly closing processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Approve accounting entries
- Ensure the overall integrity of financial statements under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Japan GAAP
- Prepare local regulatory reports
- Support ad hoc queries and requests from management, auditors or regulators
- Coordinate with various teams such as Product Controllers, Financial Controllers, Business Managers, and Operations, etc.
- Keep track of assigned business results for booking accuracy
- Analysis of revenue under Management accounting
- Monitor currency hedge processes
- Support new business initiatives
- Seek better control procedures which can be justified by cost/benefit analysis

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting and/or finance experience
- Native level Japanese and basic level English
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Understanding of financial products such as shorting, margin trade, security borrowing /lending, options, swap, forwards and futures, etc.
- GAAP knowledge (Japan GAAP and/or US GAAP)
- Regulatory reporting knowledge
- J-CPA, CFA and/or FRM holders are plus
