Legal Entity Controller - Associate

The Bank Legal Entity Control team is responsible for the oversight of JPMorgan Bank, N.A. on a standalone and consolidated basis as well as a few other supporting entities. The Bank Legal Entity Control team is tasked with ensuring a strong control environment exists as it relates to all businesses, products and operational areas that impact the Legal Entity financials. The Bank Legal Entity Control team is also responsible for the annual and semi-annual audited financial statements of JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.

As an Associate within the Bank Legal Entity Control team, you will liaise with line of business finance teams and the Legal Entity Controller community to drive the team's agenda.

  • Contribute in legal entity accounting & controls on a monthly basis including month-end close process, parent/child accounting, equity pick up, review of inter-entity breaks and unnatural general ledger balance monitoring
  • Conduct month-end review of the legal entity to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial statements
  • Investigate, analyze and resolve issues and respond to ad-hoc queries
  • Oversee and review intercompany activity control including variance commentary
  • Compile, review and file JPMCB's consolidated annual and semi-annual financial statements and quarterly FOCUS IIC report
  • Participate in Firmwide legal entity reporting projects including infrastructure and process improvement efforts and other Controller initiatives as needed

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3 years of experience in finance/accounting including strong accounting and analytical acumen, with ability to understand, produce and explain income statement and balance sheet content and variances
  • Advanced excel, PowerPoint skills required
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others and liaise with business partners
  • Strong initiative and work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, with an ability to be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment; superior attention to detail

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Ability to prepare executive level presentations a plus
