As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Equities Tech team, you will be working as a front-office specialist in a high pressure, challenging environment and solving business and development tasks via technology in a fast pace: time to market is critical, but without compromising on quality or performance. This team is responsible for maintaining JPMorgan's cutting edge Trading applications. The platform provides services ranging from OMS, market data, reference data, session and recovery management, routing and back office system feeding for Global markets.

Job responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement a robust automation testing framework using Python and Java to support electronic trading exchange connectivity.
- Lead the automation of testing processes, reducing manual intervention and increasing efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Application Development, Business Analysts, and Production Management, to ensure comprehensive automation coverage and effectiveness.
- Oversee the successful completion of automation activities across multiple work streams and ensure optimum solutions are achieved.
- Drive your own workload with minimal management oversight, ensuring timely delivery of testing solutions.
- Liaise with global team members to ensure cohesive and coordinated efforts across regions.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java for developing automation tools and frameworks.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash
- Experience with tools such as Jules, Ansible or TestNG.
- Knowledge of behavior-driven development (BDD) tools like Cucumber or JBehave.
- Experience with version control systems like Git for managing code and configuration files.
- Experience with task scheduling tools like cron (Linux) or Task Scheduler (Windows)
- Ability to write scripts to automate repetitive tasks and processes.
- Experience working in a team with a strong software development process (build, test, deploy)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Strong technology generalist - experience building and supporting high performance and resilient applications used within a high performance/real time environment.
- Experience in Electronic trading technology / Futures and Options is a plus
- Proven experience in TCP, Server-side and messaging based applications.
- Good understanding of FIX and other financial messaging protocols is preferred.
- Experience with code quality scanning and code coverage tools like Sonar, Coverity, Jacoco, Corbetura, etc. will be plus
