As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking in Global Customer Platform team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Needs to partner with different application teams throughout the life cycle to understand their application infrastructure and monitoring and apply GCP Site Reliability Principles, this requires direct contact with application teams. Excellent communication and ability to build and maintain the relationship is essential. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops and implement performance test frameworks to verify application service. Gather requirements, understand use cases, design performance plan and debug/analyze performance of upcoming features.
  • Expert in designing Workload Modelling. Provide technical assistance to improve system performance, capacity, reliability and scalability.
  • Experienced in performance testing solution with CI/CD, release engineering, infrastructure, cloud, development teams. Reviews for continuous improvements in performance test engineering controls and review test artifacts on regular basi
  • Experienced in application monitoring stack (Logs, Events Metrics & Alerts) and ability to visualize and setup end-to-end observability (Infrastructure and Application components). Performance Monitoring using industry standard monitoring tools (Dynatrace, APICA, Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana etc.) develop and maintain dashboards, alerting, reporting.
  • Proficient in design performance KPI's for AUT. (Application Under Test). Identification of Performance bottlenecks using Thread Dump and Heap Dump Analysis.
  • Understanding of hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Proficient in principles of Site Reliability Engineering and operational stability
  • Hands on experience in one of programming languages (Java, Python, Scripting)
  • Advanced Knowledge of Web Services - SOAP, REST
  • Experience of supporting using APM tools and monitoring dashboards in a large corporate environment like banking and finance.
  • Knowledge on integrating performance testing scripts to CICD pipeline.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Exposure to cloud technologies- Kubernetes, CloudFoundry-PCF preferable
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in performance testing using tools like Blazemeter and jMeter
  • Understanding on Java-Spring based microservices application infrastructure and its deployment model
  • Knowledge in cloud platforms (Kubernetes, CloudFoundry-PCF preferable).
