As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Risk Decisions team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage and Deliver book of work and overall application portfolio.
  • Demonstrate People management, communication, presentation and articulation skills.
  • Provide strategic technology directions in order to ensure required level of functionality and performance expectations are met.
  • Manage risk, improve reliability, ensure compliance with risk policy and audit requirements.
  • Drive technology innovation, improve productivity and control through automation and standardization
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with other development teams, operate team, controls team and business clients.
  • Drive annual planning process for in-scope deliverables
  • Establish and regularly manage financial and staffing plans to deliver on schedule and within budget
  • Act as a role model for all best practices, ensuring consistency across entire team.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in cloud based java microservices.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic.
  • Experience in high volume real time & batch application processing.
  • Experience in people & application management with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation.
  • Proficiency in development, deployment, and support of large-scale distributed applications in a mission-critical production environment.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Strong understanding of technology disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) and agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Be a self-starter and be able to reach out to various groups to get the requirements to completion
  • Experience managing offshore/onshore model and mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Strong project management and team management skills e.g. planning, budgetary control, people management etc. and able to lead, delegate, motivate, and support resources to achieve high delivery demands.
