- Devises creative software solutions that address the needs of stakeholders / clients / customers. Thinks beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Develops secure, high-quality, production-level code. Takes an active role in peer review and embraces known, effective methods of collaboration, e.g. pair programming.
- Conducts oneself with an attitude toward TDD; tests everything thoroughly and works to ensure the team's high standards for code coverage are met and maintained.
- Discovers opportunities for process and tool improvements to drive concepts toward more expeditious implementations.
- Identifies pain points and works to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Occasionally leads evaluation sessions with stakeholders / clients / customers to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) / framework(s) / discipline(s) including React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Jest, etc.
- Experience in one or more backend programming language: Java, Python, NodeJS.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline, e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
- Practical cloud native experience.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- A keen understanding of promises and asynchronous patterns.
- Is skilled in lower-level design / principles of JavaScript / TypeScript.
- Knowledgeable with regards to industry standard bundlers, e.g., Webpack, Rollup.
- Is familiar with how to optimize JavaScript compilation for scalability and versatility.
- Has experience building out a CLI.
