Join our Cloud & Foundational Platforms organisation as an experienced Lead Software Engineer - Cloud Graph Platforms and push the boundaries of what's possible. This role offers the chance to contribute to our strategic graph database space, a rapidly growing area due to increasing demand for AI/ML capabilities. Our team builds centralized platform & database services across public and hybrid cloud, used globally across our business lines. We're developing managed services for multiple graph database technologies, soon to be available across AWS, Azure, GCP and on-premise.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cloud & Foundational Platforms organization, you will be presented with opportunities to shape your career and redefine boundaries. You will play a pivotal role in our strategic graph database space, an area experiencing growth due to the rising demand for AI/ML capabilities. Your responsibilities will include the development of centralized platform and database services across public and hybrid cloud environments. This will involve infrastructure and software engineering to manage and support this self-service platform This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies such as TigerGraph & Neo4j and contribute to services that are utilized globally across all our business lines.

Job responsibilities

  • Continued career advancement opportunities, including industry recognized certifications, such as AWS, Azure, GCP and CKAD

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on Analytical and problem solving concepts and proficient advanced experience
  • Extensive experience with at least two of the following languages: Python
  • Experience with NoSQL database products, graph based ideally
  • Practical experience of architecting & developing applications or platforms on any one of the major public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google).
  • Knowledge and experience of industry wide technology strategies and best practices
  • Unit-testing framework(s) & BDD/TDD
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience - Terraform, Ansible, Puppet and/or Salt
  • Understanding and experience of Agile and Lean philosophies including experience with JIRA, YouTrack and/or similar
  • Extensive Experience of Python frameworks - Django/Flask etc.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with relational databases
  • Understanding the importance of great documentation and a passion for helping customers
  • Comfortable in setting and defining strategic priorities and working with product management
  • Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
  • CI/CD pipelines preferably including Jenkins, Bamboo and/or Spinnaker
  • Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (including IBM WebSphere) and/or Heroku

Experience with core services including Active Directory, Kerberos and DNS
