As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the COMMERCIAL & INVESTMENT BANK, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Develop, Implement and maintain security features in backend systems, including authentication, authorization, encryption and access controls
- Create secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Collaborate with security teams to integrate security controls into existing infrastructure and application development processes
- Design APIs with secure data transmission and storage to mitigate potential cybersecurity risks
- Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities and trends implementing necessary backend improvements
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development(Java, Go), testing, and operational stability
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Solid understanding of security protocols and crytography(SSL/TLS, hashing, encryption)
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization frameworks(OAuth, JWT, SAML and OPA - policy as code)
- Knowledge of API security, including rate limiting, input validation and token-based authentication
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, DevSecOps and Security
- Experience with database technologies (MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB, etc.) and query languages (SQL, NoSQL)
- Knowledge of web protocols and standards (HTTP, REST, gRPC etc.) and cloud native technologies such as EnvoyProxy
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, GitOps, Terraform, etc.)
- Experience with GraphQL
