As an Artifacts Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector, specifically in the Engineers Platforms and Experience division, you will play a crucial role in an agile team committed to enhancing, creating, and delivering high-quality technology products securely, stably, and scalably. Your primary technical contribution will be to design critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains within various business functions, all aimed at strengthening the firm's business goals.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develops innovative software solutions, encompassing design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think creatively and unconventionally to solve technical challenges.
  • Produces secure, high-quality production code and conducts code reviews and debugging for peers.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues, enhancing the operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to critically assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and their integration into existing systems and information architecture.
  • Champions communities of practice within Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of cutting-edge technologies.
  • Contributes to a team culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Extensive software engineering experience with a solid understanding of design patterns, cloud services, microservices architecture, RESTful and SOAP web services, and engineering best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Java, JEE, and the Spring Framework.
  • Experienced with source control management tools like Git.
  • Skilled in using Maven as a build tool, with a strong grasp of Maven standards and practices.
  • Proficient in ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA or MyBatis, with strong SQL skills across multiple databases like Cassandra and Oracle.
  • Comfortable with multiple programming languages and possesses a strong understanding of fundamental web and internet technologies.
  • Experience with both private and public cloud environments, ranging from IaaS to PaaS solutions, with hands-on experience in Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and ECS.
  • Practical experience with unit testing tools such as JUnit and Mockito.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Familiarity with tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, JUnit, SonarQube, and BlazeMeter.
  • Experience with monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana, Cortex, and Kibana.
  • Knowledge of Datadog and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with JFrog Artifactory.
