As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Employee Experience team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Define, communicate and rationalize requirements into software to be delivered and proactively working with key stakeholders including architects, product owners, and customers to build the best in class solutions
  • Proactively build enterprise scale and customer grade engineering solutions to deliver an improved employee experience
  • Manage existing system to ensure risk, compliance, security and technical lifecycle maintenance is managed
  • Engineer employee website and system to meet business objectives and client needs
  • Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
  • Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
  • Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, with a strong emphasis on Java, Kotlin, or similar languages.
  • Experience in web development using Angular, React, or similar frameworks, showcasing the ability to build and maintain dynamic and responsive web applications.
  • Demonstrated experience as an individual contributor in software engineering, with a strong business acumen and a focus on delivering consumer-grade solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of the engineering best practices, technical design and product development lifecycle
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
