As a platform engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will be joining our Identity & Security workstream, within the Cloud Platform Engineering tribe, which is at the heart of a cutting-edge cloud-native AWS infrastructure that powers the Chase UK bank that is trusted by over 2 million customers. You will be exposed to a wide spectrum of technologies.

We work in tribes and squads that focus on specific products and projects - and depending on your strengths and interests, you'll have the opportunity to move among squads within the tribe.

Job responsibilities:

  • You will be working alongside the Cloud Platform Engineering tribe and be exposed to an AWS environment with extensive use of Kubernetes. We run a modern platform, where Platform Engineers, and Security work extremely close and require an understanding of the AWS ecosystem and its technologies.
  • Be responsible for the UK and other European markets, implementation of IAM technologies and principals, while ensuring the risk and controls landscape of the bank is upheld to the highest standards.
  • Working with different stakeholders, in different teams, and countries daily. A key hand on stakeholder management, communication, and technical help with people who are technical and non-technical is required
  • Familiar with the implementations of industry standards such as SAML, OIDC, MFA, RBAC, and technologies such as LDAP and Active Directory.
  • Logical and structured thinking under pressure. Our team are an essential driver of business controls, and you will need to be able to communicate with regulators, auditors, and legal at times. We have a robust control framework, which you will need to become familiar with.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Formal training or certification on developing and maintaining applications in the public cloud concepts and proficient advanced experience
  • Experience developing and maintaining applications in the public cloud (we use AWS)
  • Experience managing public cloud infrastructure using infra-as-code technologies (we use Terraform), and specifically managing and supporting the integration between our IAM systems, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Good knowledge of programming using a modern language (Java/Python/Go)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of IAM technologies as an industry standard Active Directory, SAML, OIDC, AWS IAM

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Familiar with software engineering security best practices in a cloud environment.
  • Past experience working in a regulated business and understanding of technology controls.
  • Experience working with Teleport, Hashicorp Vault.
  • The business language is English; however, proficient German would be a benefit in this role.
