As a Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector - Identity and Access Management, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

  • Generates data models for their team using firm wide tooling, linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms
  • Delivers data collection, storage, access, and analytics data platform solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way
  • Implements database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy
  • Evaluates and reports on access control processes to determine effectiveness of data asset security with minimal supervision
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on Python or Data Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentations skills across various stakeholders and senior management
  • Familiarity with data processing frameworks like Java and Python, as well as libraries for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
  • Proficiency in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, including entities, relationships, attributes, and constraints.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, manipulating, and defining data structures within databases.
  • Ability to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into effective data models.
  • Integrate data from various sources, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Design and implement ETL processes to move and transform data to data warehouses or lakes.
  • Implement data validation and cleansing to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Ability to manage product backlog; analytical, problem solving skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles, and familiarity with security standards and regulations.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud and Big Data/Data Lake platforms.
