As a Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications on modern cloud-based technologies. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical architecture solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of project goals.

Job responsibilities

  • Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs
  • Defines the technical target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy
  • Participates in architecture governance bodies
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Lead solution design workshops, collaborating with multiple teams to define proposed implementations, support business case write-ups, and conduct value-based analysis
  • Document ServiceNow and integration solutions to meet desired outcomes while ensuring platform integrity and control standards
  • Drive architecture and design best practices for solutions implemented on the ServiceNow platform
  • Participate in Architect Review Boards, providing thought leadership and guidance on mid to long-term platform strategy
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of the ServiceNow platform
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of ServiceNow and industry standards and best practices

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Possess seven years or more experience within the ServiceNow solution architecture space, leading and participating in large implementations
  • Develop using ServiceNow, including the use of App Engine Studio
  • Understand the Common Service Data Model and CMDB, including best practices
  • Demonstrate proficiency in JavaScript/ECMAScript
  • Apply information architecture and RDBMS concepts
  • Implement RESTful solutions and Kafka integrations
  • Grasp SaaS and IaaS platforms and cloud-first approaches to solution architecture

  • Build consensus among stakeholders, showcasing excellent communication skills and forging strong relationships within the organization
  • Navigate ambiguity and take principled positions on new technology
  • Work within large global organizations to drive suitable outcomes
