We're looking for a passionate, strategic communicator to join J.P. Morgan's Payments Communications Team, a part of the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Communications team to support external and internal communications for J.P. Morgan Payments in Latin America.
As Communications Manager, this individual will join the global Payments Communications team to coordinate and execute an external and internal communications strategy for the Payments business across the LATAM region. This creative thinker and driven communications professional will secure impactful stories in key top tier, mainstream, trade and regional media outlets, and work closely with the Global Head of Communications, Payments, and Head of Global Media Relations, Payments, to provide strategic advice and guidance to the LATAM Payments business and stakeholders in the region. This individual will also work closely with the Head of Payments, LATAM and the related membership team to drive impactful internal communications and help build a "one team" culture in the region for Payments.

Based in Sao Paulo, this role will also collaborate with functional partners and communications colleagues to help raise awareness of the Payments business - and ongoing innovation - externally and internally, focusing on the LATAM region, working as a part of the LATAM Payments Leadership Team, and be aligned to the LATAM CIB Communications Team.
Job Responsibilities
- Raise the visibility and awareness of J.P. Morgan Payments in LATAM to increase consideration among target buyers, partners and the fintech/payments community
- Develop and execute a communications strategy to proactively tell the J.P. Morgan Payments story in LATAM with our clients and partners and manage incoming requests
- Effectively deploy strategies to target key media outlets that reach key audiences
- Establish, maintain and deepen relationships with key media outlets
- Work with the Head of Colleague Experience Communications to drive meaningful cultural impact and internal communications for the region, while participating and collaborating across the Payments Editorial and Internal Communications Teams
- Serve as counsel to our spokespeople and partners on media, reputation and communications strategy
- Draft and edit communications materials
- Protect and enhance our reputation passionately and enhance the culture of the business
- Draw on Payments and CIB Communications resources to ensure strategic alignment with the company's priorities
- Travel to and staff key events as needed and appropriate
Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or relevant field of study
- Minimum of seven years of experience in media relations or public relations within the technology/fintech industries, with deep knowledge of and relationships with media in related landscape
- Experience at large, matrixed organization a plus
- Demonstrated experience in creating tailored messaging as well as understanding of the PESO model
- Passionate storyteller with ability to communicate clearly and concisely through superb written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, networking and presentation skills, creativity and ability to generate big, new ideas and take (smart) risks
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues across lines of business, regions and functions to lead strategy and execution while navigating internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage large-scale, complex projects with discipline, speed, flexibility, adaptability and precision.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with outstanding judgement, problem-solving ability and resourcefulness; ability to self-motivate and work independently
