Latam Legal Entity Market Risk - Associate

The J.P. Morgan Commercial and Investment Bank is seeking for a Latam Legal Entity Market Risk - Associate to join the Market Risk team, based in São Paulo.

The Latam Legal Entity Market Risk team is responsible for the monitoring of the market risk exposures and sensitivities across all Line of Business in the Latam Region. Products include different types of swaps and derivative deals, including the evaluation of risks on the banking and trading portfolios, businesses, transaction structures and economic environment. The team analyses, approves and manages market risk exposure, and contributes to the execution of transactions in partnership with other stakeholders.

Job responsibilities:

  • Monitor Market Risk reports and limits highlighting key risks to the Company's portfolio and trading/banking activities.
  • Work with global peers within the Risk group to ensure that consistent controls, systems and processes are in place across the teams.
  • Use market knowledge to understand and explain business activities and strategies. Measure and provide insights into the business performance.
  • Provide insight into embedded optionality and risk profiles of assets.
  • Liaise directly with the trading desks and other businesses.
  • Liaise with internal support teams (LERR, MO, BO, TAX, LEC, PC, Tech).

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Risk and Control oriented.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong knowledge in financial products and financial math.
  • Communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multi-task functions.
  • Ability to understand position management and price risk for a physical and future commodities book.
  • Understanding of the major market risk metrics such as the Value-at-Risk.
  • To be a self-starter & show proactive actions.
  • Strong Excel is a must.
  • Fluent English.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • R / C# / SQL or Python is a plus.
  • Good understanding of options and modelling of Greeks is a plus.
