As a Business Analysis Manager in the Performance and Insights department at J.P. Morgan's Wealth Management's Business Development and Solutions, you will engage in strategic initiatives in a rapidly evolving industry. Your role will involve leveraging cutting-edge big data technologies to address enterprise-wide challenges, providing services ranging from database building and data mining to process improvement implementation and cost analysis. Our core responsibilities are to provide a broad spectrum of services from database building and data mining, to process improvement implementation and cost analysis to J P Morgan's operational support departments. We support departments located across the United States and overseas. We are creating a culture of data excellence by fostering collaboration and alignment of interest. We are looking for someone with a passion for data and creating efficient reporting for Sr. Leaders to easily digest and manage business activity. In the Performance and Insights team we believe that data integration should be built to help our partner departments make better decisions by providing the right data at the right time. We're looking for exceptionally creative, ambitious, \"data curious\" thinkers who can help to extract true business value from data.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design develop document and test data systems that bring together data from disparate sources, making it available to data scientists, analysts, and other users using scripting and or programming languages.
  • Evaluate structured and unstructured data sets utilizing statistics, data mining, and predictive analytics to gain additional business insights
  • Constantly making efforts to eliminate redundant and labor intensive process and automate
  • Lead for data science, advanced analytics, and projects with best practices, methods, and tools
  • Work with other Analytics team leads and technology partners to take the centralized technology changes and apply strong controls such as bitbucket management, share drive migration, FID changes
  • Lead the team through the analytical environment changes by understanding the changes of the applications/systems/data center migrations and adopt new consistent approach, such as SAS migration, share drive migration, AMG tool changes and data center migrations
  • Communicate with all levels of stakeholders as appropriate including executives, data modelers, application developers, and business users.
  • Drive and execute automation of current reporting processes via available tools (e.g. SharePoint, MS Access, Excel VBA, Business Objects, Qlikview, Tableau, Alteryx etc.)
  • Designing a Alteryx workflow to wrangle messy, unrefined data from disparate sources to be efficiently consumed at scale by an automated scorecard
  • Presenting a mock-up of a simple Tableau dashboard to key business partners that will enable them to identify key gaps in business performance
  • Using SQL, SAS, and PYTHON to extract raw data and creating clear, actionable bits of information in response to an ad-hoc question from the business

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree required,
  • Minimum 4 years of experience designing, developing, and data validation / data sources.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, SQL development, and other programming languages with the ability to write own queries
  • Experience in scorecard/metrics, MIS reporting or similar quantitative work experience is required using tools such as but not limited to MS Access, MS Excel, Tableau, Business Objects and Alteryx etc.
  • Thought leader in data science and analytics who can define analytical agenda for projects, demonstrates ability to frame ambiguous business questions into analytical plans (e.g., assessing data needs, sourcing files, preparing data, creating new features, evaluating quality, etc.), and executes with precision
  • Have a demonstrated ability to think both independently and collaboratively to implement creative solutions that solve business problems, being diligent in the detail while maintaining focus on broader purpose and business objectives
  • Are comfortable summarizing key information and presenting recommendations to multiple stakeholders to influence senior management
  • Capacity to successfully manage a pipeline of duties with minimal supervision.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Advanced degree preferred in analytical field (e.g., Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research, Physics)
  • Financial services background preferred, but not required
