Join our G10 Fixed Income Financing trading desk in Japan, a growing business within the top tier global investment bank.
As a junior trader within the G10 Fixed Income Financing trading team, you will be working in a dynamic and busy trading floor environment. You will be a junior risk taker where you are expected to tend to the firm's and client's short cover/funding needs as well as trading other products including but not limited to spot FX, USDJPY basis, short-end cash JGBs, bond basis. At the same time, you will manage trade processing, life cycle management, risk and desk's profit and loss estimation.
Job responsibilities
- Be responsible for trade capture, trade life cycle management
- Do short cover/funding for the desk facing brokers
- Market make for client flows
- Estimate profit and loss for the books and understand the risk of the desk
- Hedge the risk of trading books using various trading instruments
- Help the desk handle inquiries from other teams

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum education required - Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of middle/back/front office experience in fixed income trading or display of aptitude in such products. (not limited to JPY)
- Registered with the JSDA
- Business level fluency in both Japanese as well as English is required, due to interaction with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to communicate concepts and ideas, both verbally and via documentation, and be able to defend their validity and target messages to different audiences
- Ability to interact comfortably with business clients and management
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
- Ability to discuss in detail your understanding of fundamental and technical aspects of product(s) traded and support area functions of respective products
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Highly proficient in Bloomberg, Excel
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity in understanding the various binding constraints and the impact it has on trading behavior
- Demonstrate interest in understanding the inter-connectedness of various markets especially in money market space
- Ability to write periodic commentary on market trends
- Prior roles within fixed income division is a plus
- CFA level 3 a plus
