Investment Banking - UK Energy, Power, Renewables & Mining (EPRM) - Vice President - London

As a Vice President, UK EPRM corporates (Energy, Power, Renewables & Mining, including Utilities) , Investment Banking team member in London, you'll have experience developing strong relationships with corporates and financial institution clients and working across different products. You'll work on deals and transactions across the spectrum of our banking products, including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, loans, and equity capital and debt capital raises.

Roles within the business are balanced between providing ongoing services to clients, winning new business and the execution of projects. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will work across the spectrum of Energy, Power, Renewables and Mining clients and transactions.

Job responsibilities

  • Acting as the primary day-to-day client point of contact and lead banker on deals
  • Reviewing and coordinating the analytic work of junior bankers to move marketing/execution process forward
  • Experience in training junior bankers
  • Refining marketing/execution materials for maximum client impact
  • Overseeing the creation of financial projection models
  • Identifying and managing all risks in a given deal
  • Liaising with other internal and external parties on transactions (eg. lawyers, accountants, counterparties)
  • Leading client negotiations, Q&A process and management interviews
  • Providing clients with UK market advice in relation to the UK Listing Rules and Takeover Code

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Prior experience in Investment Banking or transactions, with EPRM sector specific and UK market experience strongly preferred
  • Very strong financial modelling/valuation and analytical skills
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and proactive, energetic and decisive, with high level of integrity
  • Strong leadership, as well as people and project management skills
  • Able to communicate concepts and ideas both verbally and via documentation, to and be able to defend their validity
  • A relationship builder, who can establish trust and credibility with clients and the broader J.P. Morgan franchise
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, and have the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and to develop innovative solutions
  • Candidate needs to be adaptable, able to manage projects independently and be ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients in a professional and mature manner
  • Outstanding ethics, integrity and judgment
  • Excellent understanding of financial, legal and reputational risks facing large integrated investment banks in today's environment
  • Strong intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent technology skills with superior Excel and PowerPoint skills and ability to quickly learn new software applications
