As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
- Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
- Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
- Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
- Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
- Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge
- Demonstrate extensive expertise in one or more areas of infrastructure engineering, such as hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, performance, or security assessments.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of a specific infrastructure technology and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell Scripting, Ansible, Terraform).
- Understand cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies, with the ability to operate in and migrate across both public and private clouds.
- Exhibit proficiency in multiple infrastructure technologies with the operational skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Hands on experience in capacity management, resiliency, and business continuity planning and execution.
- Has the ability utilize tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or any other monitoring tools.
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in testing tools such as Selenium or any other automation testing tool.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Leverage experience working in financial institutions, with a background in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering.
- Demonstrate proven ability to manage multiple service improvement programs and effectively prioritize workloads.
- Apply familiarity with multi-tiered application architecture and a successful track record in developing and implementing IT strategies and plans.
- Utilize familiarity with agile development methodologies and development tools such as JIRA, GIT, and Bitbucket.
