As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms, Database Management space, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Job responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
- Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
- Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
- Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
- Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
- Experience with SQL Version 2016/2017/2019/2022 and exposure to MSSQL on Linux.
- Solid skills in database performance tuning, optimizing queries and stored procedures
- Strong experience with SQL Server clusters with multiple nodes on each cluster, mirroring, logshipping, Always-on and other methods of disaster recovery
- Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, SQL Scripting, Powershell Scripting and/or Perl/YAML
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Migration of SQL Server databases to/from on-prem to Public Cloud and administrating MSSQL DB's in Public Cloud
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile development methodology
- Demonstrated ability to implement automated process to improve database system reliability
