As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms - Application Integration and Search product line, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform general troubleshooting and debugging on Linux environment
  • Automate toil in IT Operations
  • Handle change and incident management of IT Infrastructure
  • Manage Infrastructure capacity and resiliency of business critical applications
  • Collaborates with other software engineers and teams to design and implement deployment approaches using automated continuous integration and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Act as a Key contributor to design, develop, test, and implement availability, reliability, scalability, self-healing, and solutions in their applications ensuring minimal refactoring or changes.
  • Collaborates with technical experts, key stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems.
  • Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Experience in SRE/DevOps role for supporting highly available production systems in cloud environments (public and / or private)
  • Proficiency in modern development process and automation tools and one/more general-purpose programming languages including.
    • Java or Python
    • Scripting using Shell, YAML and Terraform
    • SQL/Oracle
  • Hands on experience of GIT, BitBucket, Jenkins, Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD) tools
  • Good knowledge on containerization and cloud concepts

Excellent communication skill with debugging and trouble shooting skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with infrastructure components utilized in Integration products like Mule, Kafka, MQ, WebMethods, IBM ACE etc.
  • Banking domain experience preferable
  • Experience with defining SRE standards and supporting implementation and adoption of these standards on alert/monitoring setup, Observability, Service level objectives, Incident management, Problem management
