Control Management maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the Firm. With control managers appointed across Lines-of-Business (LOB), Corporate Functions (CF) and locations, there is comprehensive coverage and an established joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk. Control Management is an organization in APAC providing regional coverage across LOB, functions, and locations. There is an exciting opportunity to join the North Asia Location Control Management team within the APAC Control Management organization.

As a Hong Kong Location Control Manager - Analyst within the Location Control Management team, you will be responsible for providing oversight of the risk and control environment across all LOB and CF in location. You will work closely with location/regional partners as well as senior leaders across LOB and CF including Senior Country Business Manager (SCBM), Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Audit, HR, Technology, and Operations. If you have some relevant experience or enthusiasm in learning to manage regulatory exams, internal reviews & testing by Compliance, Conduct, and Operational Risk (CCOR)/Audit, issue resolution, project deliveries, and process improvements, you may be the right fit for our team.

Job responsibilities

  • Identify and assess potential control gaps and/or emerging risks across LOB and CF
  • Analyze data and trends, identify process improvement opportunities, escalate associated issues and risks
  • Support optimization initiatives related to regional/location governance and reporting, execute/provide oversight of implemented enhancements
  • Provide project management support related to regulatory change initiatives, including maintenance of project plans, managing key stakeholder, etc. to meet regulatory expectations
  • Review key metrics and finalize materials for location governance meetings
  • Monitor issues and action plans for control gaps impacting the HK franchise, ensures prompt escalation and appropriate governance. Ensuring issues impacting location are logged into Control and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) on a timely basis
  • Review and monitor regulatory engagements (inspections, exams, etc.) in location, coordinate with key stakeholders representing impacted LOB and CF to meet regulatory timelines
  • Review key metrics and finalize materials for location governance meetings

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong collaborator with succinct communication skill
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and be able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in controls, compliance, audit, risk or project management
  • Risk and controls background and/or knowledge of issue management
  • Proficient with data transformation tools/program management experience/relevant experience in managing regulatory inspections, submissions, etc. is a plus
