The Executive Director, Global Technology Transformation, will be responsible for leading and executing JPMorgan Chase's global technology Gen AI transformation strategy. This leader will play a pivotal role in enabling the future of our technology landscape, ensuring the successful delivery of complex, high-impact projects that align with our business goals and enhance our competitive edge. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of technology trends and their impact on business processes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale technology projects, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and enable a comprehensive AI transformation strategy aligned with JPMorgan Chase's business objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize AI opportunities that can drive significant business value and competitive advantage.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of AI initiatives across the organization, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of AI researchers, data scientists, engineers, and project managers. Ensure the team has the necessary resources, skills, and support to achieve their goals. Collaborate with colleagues as peers and achieve goals without direct control over resources.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with initiatives and facilitate the successful adoption of AI technologies.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, providing regular updates and ensuring transparency, in simple and easy to consume manner, tailored to target audience.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with initiatives, including technical, operational, and ethical risks and develop and implement risk management frameworks to ensure the safe and responsible use of AI technologies.
  • Partner with CFO team to secure funding and resources for AI projects, and ensure they are used effectively to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of AI technologies and processes and address resistance to change and promote a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously refine and optimize AI strategies and initiatives.
  • Encourage the exploration of new AI technologies and methodologies to drive continuous improvement. Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the AI transformation team.

Required qualifications, capabilities, skills

  • 10+ years of experience in technology project management, with a focus on large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) can be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of technology trends, digital transformation, and their impact on business processes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills; translates technical expertise for diverse audiences.
  • High proficiency with PowerPoint for executive level documents and Excel based model for program analytics.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with proven ability to apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions.
  • Working with ambiguity and laser focused on delivering results.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Being able to distill large sets of data to derive the meta message for executive management.
  • Strong leadership and team-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project and change management skills, tools and software.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, skills

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML algorithms, frameworks, and applications and prior experience in Ai/ML technology delivery is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile and/or Lean methodologies and tools is preferred.
