Global Financial Crime Compliance Associate

We are seeking a dedicated Global Financial Crime Compliance Associate to join our Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) team in Japan. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) to collaborate with Line of Business (LOB) and global/regional Compliance teams. Your contributions will be vital in advancing our compliance initiatives and managing AML risk effectively.

As a Global Financial Crime Compliance Associate in the CCOR team, you will play a key role in identifying potential concerns and control issues, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented. You will collaborate with regional and global team members, driving the Global Financial Crime Compliance agenda in client AML risk management. Your work will support the firm's global compliance mandate and contribute to the success of our compliance initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential concerns and control issues, determine root causes, and ensure stakeholders implement corrective actions.
  • Execute key strategic Compliance initiatives within the firm's global compliance framework.
  • Collaborate with regional and global team members and actively participate in working groups.
  • Drive the Global Financial Crime Compliance agenda in client AML risk management.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Financial Crime Compliance or AML Risk/Control-related fields, such as Foreign Correspondent Bank management.
  • Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Proven ability to identify key issues and gather information for analysis.
  • Ability to establish credibility and build strong partnerships with senior business leaders and control functions.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Advisory experience in AML-related fields.
  • Client-facing experience in AML due diligence for relationship management/clearing business.
  • CAMS certification preferred.
