As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Employee Platforms, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Working as part of a diverse agile squad you'll develop micro front-ends and cloud-native micro-services to create new HR portal experiences and migrate existing digital help experiences to our new employee help journeys.

You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with many stakeholders to stay focused on common goals.
Job responsibilities
• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
• Playing a full part in all agile ceremonies and pairing with team mates to deliver product management roadmap and meet deadlines
• Supporting the Application Owner and Information Owner to ensure our applications are compliant with all JPMC engineering standards and that any breaks are remediated in a timely manner

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• Strong Agile experience using Scrum/Kanban methodologies and JIRA/Confluence
• Experienced in web front end development, Javascript technologies and frameworks such as React or Angular
• Experience in automated testing frameworks NUnit, Jest, Cypress etc. to help drive CI/CD best practice
• Experience in SQL or NoSQL databases such as MS SQL/MySQL/Mongo/Dynamo

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience of public cloud on AWS, Azure or GoogleCloud
• Experience in developing cloud native micro-services in .Net Core, NodeJS or similar
• Motivated, self-learner and a great team player with desire to contribute and build world class products
