As a Product Controller in our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality support that resonates with our clients. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the P&L, balance sheet, and month-end close procedures. This role provides an exciting opportunity to enhance your financial product knowledge, particularly in fixed income products, and to develop your technical and analytical skills in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Produce T+1 P&L reports for the Front Office and obtain daily P&L sign-off, including substantiation through comparison to trader predictions, current risk, and market moves
  • Perform analytical reviews of the desk P&L and explain the business drivers of P&L movements
  • Reconcile and report EOD Risk and obtain daily risk sign-off
  • Reconcile and own inputs to the Value-at-Risk (VaR) calculations of the firm
  • Ensure compliance with P&L and Risk minimum standards and support projects to enhance the control environment
  • Provide ad hoc reports driven by Front Office, Market Risk, and Business Management
  • Liaise with Financial Control during month-end to reconcile P&L Aggregator to the general ledger, review reserve adjustments, and other month-end adjustments
  • Review key control metrics and monitor current control issues, ensuring they are effectively escalated and mitigated
  • Proactively identify control risks and manage subsequent project plans to achieve resolution
  • Ensure the integrity of the business financial results under US and local regulatory requirements

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Good financial product knowledge
  • Strong numerate background - ideally a numerate degree
  • Strong technical skills (Advanced Excel)
  • Control focused / mindset with an attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively to meet challenging deadlines and be able to work under pressure
  • Analytical and quantitative aptitude. Ability to identify and solve problem
  • Team player with ability in managing daily processes and interacting with the business
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive and willing to accept responsibility
