As a Automation Associate in our Finance team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm.

In this role, you will focus on driving innovation for the Financial Controllers by exploring opportunities to apply emerging intelligent automation techniques such as Data Transformation & Visualization, Robotics Process Automation, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Machine Learning (ML), Matching Algorithms, and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Centrally positioned, you will interface with internal clients (Finance Control/Accounting) to source ideas around automation and dashboard opportunities, conduct functional and technical feasibility analyses, translate ideas into use cases, and deliver tangible solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Empower business process SMEs to own production support and change management of their automation solutions, ensuring a seamless transition from the Center of Excellence (CoE) to process SMEs during the warranty period.
  • Drive the adoption and implementation of new tools and technologies in partnership with Digital Accelerators.
  • Educate and train stakeholders on the Intelligent Solution governance and controls standard framework.
  • Collaborate with business/product teams, peers on the CoE team, and technology partners to provide training, planning, implementation, and troubleshooting support for process automation throughout the product lifecycle-from ideation to go-live to retirement or migration to strategic solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business processes through walkthroughs and deep dives, assisting in improving end-to-end processes through standardization, simplification, and automation using the Intelligent Automation Toolkit.
  • Identify scalable opportunities and develop standardized generic solutions that can be leveraged across Lines of Business (LoB), regions, products, and functions.
  • Maintain all project-related artifacts and updates in a centralized inventory.
  • Communicate open items, issues, and deadlines clearly and effectively to stakeholders and developers.
  • Monitor, control, and report key milestones and deliverables of projects, recommending corrective actions to ensure successful completion.
  • Partner with the Business Control Manager to ensure operational risk reviews are conducted and recommended controls are incorporated into automated solutions.
  • Manage a diverse team of highly skilled resources with expertise in various automation tools and technologies.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Finance or Technology.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
  • Ownership mindset with a commercial approach. Passionate, self-motivated, and positive personality.
  • Proven experience with ETL/Data Transformation and Data Visualization tools (e.g., Alteryx, Xceptor, Tableau).
  • Business acumen with the ability to link projects to desired business results.
  • Strong accounting and finance skills with the ability to analyze numbers.
  • Ability to understand and comprehend data flows and their impacts across the General Ledger.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (especially Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects).
  • Proficient in drawing process maps, writing reports, and creating scorecards.
  • Excellent understanding of finance processes and applications.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 4 years of experience in technology, finance, or project management, preferably in banking or finance operations.
  • Experience in training business users with citizen-led development tools and technologies is preferred.
  • Experience in process improvement areas is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of process automation software (e.g., UI Path, WinAutomation, Automation Anywhere) is preferred.
  • Experience with Python programming language and workflow tools (e.g., Pega, Signavio) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with exposure to finance functions highly preferable.
  • Team player with the ability to work with various cross-functional and cross-location teams. Excellent prioritization and presentation skills, with the ability to work through change. Ability to influence and drive change and innovation agendas.
