Financial Controller - Associate

Join our team as an FFC Innovation & Transformation (FIT) Associate, where you'll contribute to the integrity of our financial records and manage the general ledger across diverse investment products. You'll be part of the Financial Accounting, Infrastructure and Reporting (FFC) team, shaping financial decisions and investor insights. As a FIT team member, you'll centralize digital accelerator development, foster 'citizen developers', and identify automation opportunities to enhance our development lifecycle. Your role will encompass financial analysis, reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, and executing the month-end close process.

The FFC Innovation & Transformation (FIT) team works across the Corporate Finance organization to centralize digital accelerator development, foster and educate 'citizen developers' in the tools and technologies, and identify opportunities to automate and re-engineer processes while maintaining consistency, re-usability and control over the end-to-end development lifecycle.

As an FIT Associate within the FIT & Line of Business Technology teams, you will be responsible for evaluating projects proposed by various stakeholders across FFC. Your role will involve working closely with technology teams to prioritize enhancements and monitor their progress until completion. You will also guide the development and track each enhancement through the development lifecycle.

Job responsibilities

  • Partner with the controller organization to deliver creative and impactful solutions for the organization, while operating within the control standards for the organization.
  • Identify key opportunities and areas for innovation and develop robust solutions to meets the needs of the controller organization
  • Establish working relationships with various development teams & implement project tracking / updates to monitor progress & implementation
  • Showcase DA solutions & build awareness & enthusiasm around their capabilities
  • Advocate for and identify opportunities to drive automation across Firmwide Financial Control

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong accounting knowledge (General Ledger)
  • Prior work experience of 2+ years
  • Advanced technical skills with proven history of success leveraging SQL, Python, Databricks and Alteryx
  • Possess leadership attributes, time-management skills, and strong understanding of the process
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and execute in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to lead and influence without having positional authority, and communicate effectively at many levels of the organization including senior management
  • Strong team-orientation and leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; sound judgment with a control mindset
  • Must be detail oriented, highly responsible, and able to work with tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently
