You are a strategic thinker passionate about driving solutions in financial analysis. You have found the right team. As a Financial associate in our finance team, you will be responsible for one of our key financial measures such as revenues, expenses, headcount, or profitability modelling, where you will be expected to deliver value added financial reporting and analysis, and assist with strategic direction and decision making.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret financial statements, including preparing financial summaries for various management, business managers, and controllers' requirements.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders across CIB to ensure regional hierarchy is accurately captured, thereby analyzing the impact of any changes.
  • Plan and forecast headcount and expenses.
  • Coordinate with business units to understand headcount projections and their impact on expenses.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting on regional business performance to aid business heads and managers in strategic decision-making.
  • Drive the expense agenda for the regions by understanding the expense base and coordinating with service providers for details.
  • Maintain reference data. Demonstrate strong PowerPoint presentation skills to effectively lay out the story for town halls and senior management reviews.
  • Play a proactive role in enhancing current BAU processes. Suggest initiatives to improve MIS reporting for the regions and develop processes to meet new requests from senior management, extending them to other regions and businesses within CIB for standardization.
  • Contribute to the strategic goals of the business to achieve internal efficiencies and profitability. Assist in ad-hoc business strategic and finance projects to enhance business performance and MIS reporting.
  • Coordinate with multiple partners, including Business Heads, Business Managers, Product Controllers, External Reporting, Balance Sheet/RWA, Sales & Marketing P&A, and CIB Central team functions.
  • Partner with various F&BM teams, such as controllers and business managers, to support business in areas like Business Review, Town Hall presentations outlining future vision, and evolving business landscape across regions and products.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Planning & Analysis and Performance Reporting
  • Good knowledge of finance, accounting and valuation concepts
  • Understanding of financial markets and instruments
  • Familiar with Investment Banking products Successful candidate needs to possess strong analytical skills with great attention to detail, an eye for spotting trends, articulate in written and verbal communication and present and support their own conclusions to senior audiences
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills is a pre-requisite
  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills; flexibility, ability to dynamically prioritize requests and multitask in the face of ever-changing and sometimes conflicting demands
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and effective under pressure. Must be proactive with a drive to better processes and resolve outstanding issues
  • Pro-active and problem solving mindset with ability to identify, clearly present and implement solutions
  • Thorough understanding and appreciation of risks and controls; Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Post-Graduates (MBA's/CA's) with 5 years' experience in banking, knowledge of the financial services industry preferable
  • Working knowledge of MIS tools like Essbase / Business Objects, Cognos will be an added advantage
  • Inclination to adapt to technology initiatives. Knowledge of reporting tools (i.e. Xceptor, Qlikview and/or Alteryx) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and numeric skills, understanding of financial statements, excellent attention to detail. Able to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships and influence others, across multiple disciplines and across levels of seniority
  • Ability to work well individually and partner effectively within a team
