External Reporting Controller, Vice President

Join our dynamic External Reporting team as a Vice President and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of external filings to United States (U.S) regulators, while collaborating with key stakeholders across various Lines of Business and Corporate functions.

As a Vice President in the External Reporting team, you will be involved in answering questions/troubleshooting situations related to the consolidation of an entity and how to report balances in the Fair Value disclosures, to discussing the disclosure requirements of hybrid instruments - all in the same day. As a subject matter expert for U.S external reporting disclosure requirements related to Derivative, Fair Value, Structured Notes and Trading Assets you will be at the center of many complex discussions.

Job responsibilities:

  • Ensuring amounts related to fair value, structured notes and trading asset related disclosures are correctly reflected in the various U.S financial and regulatory reports
  • Understand in detailed the reporting processes for derivative, fair value, structured notes and trading assets for U.S regulatory report submissions
  • Analyze and challenge individual lines of business submissions
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to quantify potential impacts of identified issues, ensuring impact on financial statements and regulatory reports are understood
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure any regulatory changes to reporting are appropriately reflected in our disclosures.
  • Build strong relationships with a broad range of counterparts and stakeholders across the regions

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting with minimum of 7 years of related experience
  • CPA/ACCA qualified
  • Analytical and quantitative aptitude - ability to identify and solve problems independently
  • Good financial product knowledge
  • Ability to work effectively, meet challenging deadlines and to work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Regulatory understanding key (US GAAP/SEC reporting desirable)
