Equities - Index Derivatives Trader - Analyst/Associate

Hong Kong

This role sits within the front office and will be working in a dynamic and busy trading floor environment. You will help senior traders cover institutional accounts and make markets in your group's particular range of products.

As an Analyst/Associate in the Index Derivatives Trading team, you will help Senior Trader handle the day-to-day activity on the desk by managing risk and optimizing positioning. As our trading activity evolves towards a more systematic and quantitative set up, a key requirement for this position is your ability to code in several languages and especially in Python. Your time will be split between actively managing risk and developing our analytic systems.

  • Work with the senior traders and sales to price and manage Index options
  • Develop and create new tools to improve our monitoring and positioning
  • Achieve agreed revenue Targets
  • Work in partnership with all infrastructure functions to insure proper control, accounting and clearing procedures are in place.
  • Engage in team meetings and business management to drive & deliver results
  • Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, firm wide risk framework, and internal policies

Required Qualifications Capabilities and Skills

  • Strong programming skills (Python, SQL, KDB)
  • Experience trading Asian index products
  • Experience of working collaboratively in highly productive teams
  • High degree of numeracy
  • Strong communication skills, especially around complicated concepts
  • Works thoughtfully and logically
  • Motivated to learn and proactively seeks responsibility
  • Able to work in a pressured environment
  • Tenacious & self-motivated
