Job Description:
As a Business Control Manager within the APAC Equities Trading Group, you will play a key role in managing the business's regulatory obligations, conduct, operational risk, and supervisory requirements. In this increasingly complex and demanding global regulatory environment, your expertise in change, risk, and controls will be crucial. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end control environment, spanning all primary functions from business execution, credit risk, market risk, model risk, VCG, Operations through to Finance.This role provides an opportunity to become a trusted advisor on regulatory, operational risk, and control matters, and to make a significant impact on our business.

Job responsibilities:
- Serve as trusted control advisor to the Front Office including prepping it for examinations and audits
- Be a subject matter expert on Cash Equities and Derivatives controls for APAC markets
- Represent front office interests vis-a-vis control/regulatory initiatives in conjunction with Legal, Compliance and other functions
- Execute and implement business controls, risk governance and reporting priorities
- Identify, document and remediate of control gaps, risk assessment and root cause issue analysis
- Foster strong relationships with the Front Office and a deep understanding of the business, focus in enhancing transparency, efficiency ,its control challenges, its architecture and products.
- Be responsible for front office supervision management and execution, including the development of supervisory tools, oversight and exception management, supervisory attestations, and the documentation and implementation of operating procedures
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in the financial industry, including roles in middle office, trading, audit, operational risk, compliance, or related functions.
- Experience in management consulting or technology innovation, particularly with start-ups or FANG-type companies.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field.
- A solid understanding of equities products and markets, including the end-to-end product life cycle for equities and governance frameworks.
- A highly motivated, energetic self-starter who takes ownership of tasks.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey clear and concise messages to various levels of seniority.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks across different time horizons while meeting deadlines.
- A strong understanding of controls and their application to various processes and businesses.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process re-engineering skills.
- A strong team player with excellent partnering and influencing skills..
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word), with added advantage for applied knowledge of Alteryx and Tableau
