The EMEA Chief Risk Office function was launched to streamline cross-risk initiatives and interactions across the EMEA region, and improve the way risk is overseen at a legal entity level. Led by the head of EMEA Risk Strategy & Execution, this dynamic function plays a pivotal role in risk governance, legal entity risk support, and regulatory management and it is an essential cornerstone of the EMEA risk management framework.

As a EMEA Risk Governance Analyst in the EMEA Risk team, you will be at the forefront of implementing regional and legal entity risk governance frameworks, collaborating closely and building partnerships with the other members of the EMEA Chief Risk Office, EMEA Governance, legal entity CROs, and colleagues across the Risk function. Your role will also involve engaging with key stakeholders such as Firmwide Risk Governance, the Office of the Secretary, and Finance & Business Management. This position offers unique exposure to JP Morgan's operations in EMEA and a wide array of risk management and governance topics. The successful candidate will join a diverse team with a wealth of SME knowledge and will have ample opportunities to learn and grow within the team.

Job responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the risk governance structure in EMEA and the implementation of the Global Legal Entity Risk Framework, creating opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Provide secretariat support for regional risk governance meetings:
    • Set relevant and forward-thinking agendas that address the most pressing risk topics, in conjunction with the Chair.
    • Prepare/ collate comprehensive and insightful materials that will inform and guide discussions.
    • Document discussions of meetings in accurate minutes, to a standard which can be submitted to regulators and used for reporting to higher level committees.
  • Support CROs by producing materials for presentation at various management level meetings, as well as submissions for legal entity board meetings, demonstrating strong design acumen and expertise in Excel and PowerPoint techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with legal obligations relating to risk governance, leveraging the Office of Legal Obligations and Legal and Regulatory Change Management Programmes.
  • Provide a high level of responsiveness to ad-hoc requests from regulators related to risk governance. Provide Risk Governance input to regular regulatory deliverables such as ICAAPs, annual financial reports and pillar 3 submissions.
  • Oversee the approval and implementation of legal entity risk governance standards/procedures.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication with ability to edit and prepare executive level communications. Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with high degree of independence.
  • Solid financial acumen with ability to understand and manage organizational financial metrics.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to change gears quickly - a true multi-tasker who is also a problem solver
  • Ability to think broadly and proactively connect the dots on topics in order to bring together a bigger picture.
  • Intellectual curiosity with a proven ability to learn quickly.
