As a Business Manager, you'll act as a trusted advisor, identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks while optimizing performance and promoting strategic initiatives.

As an EMEA Mergers & Acquisition Business Manager - Associate within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will act as a trusted advisor and counterweight to Business heads. Your role will be to identify, escalate, and mitigate business risks. You will work closely with the business to optimize bottom line performance by promoting initiatives and developing business strategy. You will have the opportunity to advise and help promote the strategic agenda for the EMEA M&A business, primarily supporting the business team based in London. This role offers an excellent platform to work with a variety of teams across Global Banking as well as building an understanding of the M&A Business.

Job responsibilities

  • Development and oversight of performance metrics for the business, including financial, pipeline, expenses
  • Preparation of business performance presentations/reviews
  • Management of financial / pipeline data and review of underlying information on a periodic basis, in collaboration with functional partners
  • Assist in key business/strategic, regulatory, and governance priorities for the franchise
  • Support development of business strategy, client prioritization and revenue planning, co-ordination, and delivery of key initiatives and projects
  • Analyse, monitor and have an understanding of JPMorgan's competition position as per Dealogic including both wallet and volume
  • Build product knowledge and awareness of business and industry developments / requirements

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Pro-active and problem solving mind-set with ability to identify, clearly present and implement solutions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; flexibility, ability to prioritize requests and multi-task
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and effective under pressure
  • Strong analytical and numeric skills, excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work well independently and partner effectively
  • Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls with a view to improve

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Strong understanding of Investment Banking (M&A, ECM and DCM) products a plus
